My research focuses on acoustic communication<\/strong> in group-living terrestrial and marine mammals<\/strong>. I aim to decipher the role of vocal signals in the establishment and modulation of social interactions<\/strong> and collective behaviours<\/strong>. More recently, I have expanded my work to investigate how moving animals use acoustic communication, together with the cognitive<\/strong> mechanisms underlying orientation<\/strong> and navigation<\/strong>. My projects rely on a range of field-based data collection methods<\/strong>, including active recordings of animal vocalisations, passive acoustic monitoring, and the deployment of embedded multi-sensor tags<\/strong>. My approach combines analyses<\/strong> of acoustic signals with behavioural and movement data, and incorporates experimental methods<\/strong> such as playback experiments and translocation paradigms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of strong ethical considerations, we work with a limited number of animals, have thorough knowledge of the species involved, and take all necessary measures to ensure that our work has a minimal \u2014 if not negligible \u2014 impact. All our studies are reviewed and approved by independent ethics committees.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
